Covid-19 Statement

As a make-up artist and hairstylist hygiene and and safety have always been highly important factors of my work and were included in my training at The London College of Fashion. However since the spread of Covid 19 I have taken extra measures and updated my knowledge and procedures accordingly. Prior to my return to work in 2020 I earned a certificate from The BARBICIDE®️ COVID-19 Certification Program. I also more recently completed an online hygiene course with ISOCLEAN (see below for certificates).

PPE

I come to work equipped with face masks, a visor, plastic gloves and single use plastic aprons.

Cleaning of Tools and the Work Station

All make-up brushes, hairbrushes and combs are cleaned in hot soapy water and sprayed with IPA prior to shoots. Metal implements such as spatulas, tweezers etc are disinfected with Barbicide or Detol.

Prior to set up I wipe the work surface with disinfectant and lay down a silicon mat (rather than fabric towel or paper) as this can be wiped down as needed throughout the day between models/clients.

Used brushed are set aside in a plastic tray and/or kept in separate plastic zip bags (one per person) and cleaned with IPA if to be used on multiple clients. I have several of each kind of brush so I mostly avoid having to use the same brush on different people.

I bring my own rubbish bags so I don’t have to go back and forth to the bin or have the work station littered. I dispose of used wipes, tissues, cotton buds etc immediately after use.

Personal hygiene

Before tending to my model/client I ensure that I wash my hands thoroughly with soap and water and check my nails are clean. Where a sink is not accessible I will regularly use hand sanitizer. I supply my own antibacterial hand soap and hand sanitizer.
